PythonIO is a training school aimed at helping startups, finance professionals and researchers understand the programming language Python in practical terms.

Two prolific software engineers, Calvin Cheng and Chng Nai Yun, have teamed up with physicist and programmer Ivan Zimine to launch PythonIO, a professional training school offering Python courses for startups, finance professionals and researchers. Python is a programming language that allows users to work more quickly and integrate their systems more effectively, claiming to increase productivity and lower maintenance costs.

The team begins its first official training for an international game producer, focusing on practical Python know-how for measuring user traction, behaviour and metrics.

Currently, the team is also discussing with several trading houses, research institutions, and technology companies about conducting in-house python training courses. Plans to conduct python fundamentals training for members of the public, with the first public course scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2013 are also in the pipeline.

Instead of focusing on pure academic knowledge, PythonIO focuses on the practical aspects of the software in scalable web development, financial analysis and scientific modeling and simulation.

Prior to the founding of PythonIO, the team had conducted a number of private and public training courses such as LadyPy2011 and Introductory Web Programming Class at Hackerspace.SG.

The company is also expanding its tutorial and training team, with interest in an experienced Python developer with extensive portfolio of work done in the programming language.
